How to get rid of unread mail_Microsoft Outlook 2011

Hi Fellow Helpers,

I have this annoying problem when my mail for exchange account always shows the icon of the mail being unread, even when it has been open and read. It sometimes goes away on its own, but reappears again, which can be quit confusing and annoying. I've tried selecting all, and marking them as unread, and then selecting all and marking them as read. This method allows the mail icon(s) to dissappear, but then when mail syncs it's folder, the icon shows back up.

I was wondering if you could help me with have the icon of "unread" mail disappear forever, when i read the actual main of course.

Your help is much much appreciated, and grateful.

Best regards,

John

Hi BDAqua,

I didn't look into rebuilding my database, as i don't know how- I'd have to take a look at the link you provided. However, surprisingly, setting it to Arrange By: Date Received so far is working. So far, the icon(s) haven't shown back, and I think this might have solved the problem. I will get back if not.

Thanks for the reply, and your time.

Much appreciated,

JF
