Q: Will this ssd work in my ibook clamshell?

I have a 466 ibook and am curious if I can use this ssd and what problems I might have http://www.ebay.com/itm/261409372801

Or http://www.amazon.com/KingSpec-2-5-i...words=Pata+ssd

Thanks!

Looked into page links, one no longer functions, so can't compare content there.

eBay link worked, can't say zip about the brand king-spec, it may be OK, or not.

There product example here, says it should work in a variety of older spec Mac

& other earlier ATA/IDE products, a 2.5" SSD of a certain quality. Not as cheap.

They may show you more in their video on how to install such a thing; OWC

also offer services to do that for their customers should they want that done.

There should be an iFixit.com guide, too, for basic HDD replacement instruction.

I can't recommend any, however there have been noted problems in some ASC

discussion areas where users installed their own & found issue in how it was done.

Sometimes a cable or other part, defective or damaged, causes a problem.

Perhaps a search engine may yield more commentary and reveal critical facts.

    Good luck & happy computing!
