sound lag using battery mode

i've installed windows xp sp2 with boot camp 1.1 and when i play music files it lags like crazy when im on battery. ive tried window media player and winamp and same thing. this does not occur when im plugged in with the ac charger...any ideas how i can fix this?

Well, I've got the same problem and I've had it since I bought my macbook.

Being a professional musician and using music software on XP through Bootcamp, this problem drives me crazy...anyone has a solution ?

I just happened to run into a post regarding "latency when playing software instruments" which might be of interest to you. I don't completely understand it, but it involves setting the audio buffer size to a smaller level when playing live software instruments. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300094.
I am planning on getting a Macbook and install Windows XP to play a MIDI application not available for Mac, so hope I don't run into the same problem as you described.
