Ipod Touch 2G cannot be restored

Hi,

I have an Ipod Touch 2G that is stuck on the loading spinner and it does not boot at all. First I tried to reset my device by pressing both Sleep/Wake and Home button but I didn't work, I just came back to the loading spinner screen. Second, I tried to do a full restore using Itunes and by putting my device into recovery mode, itunes wasn't able to restore my device (Error 1645). Finally, I tried a second restore with my device into DFU mode, Itunes did restore it but with IOS 5.1.1 which is strange because 2G Ipod are supposed to run under 4.2.1 (8C148). After Itunes told me that the restore was successful, my Ipod would still not boot and it's still stuck on the loading spinner screen, worst part is that now iTunes cannot restore it because of the error 3194. Now I'm stuck with an Ipod 2G with the wrong IOS version and it's not functionning at all (stuck with loading spinner), is there anything else I can do to fix this?

iOS: Restore error 3194 or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build'

How to solve iTunes error 3194 in 10 simple steps

Determine if you have a 2G (4.2.1) or 3G (5.1.1) if you try to restore to other than the the corresponding one you get the 3194 error.

Identifying iPod models

iPod touch (3rd generation)

iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.

The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

Ok, thank you for your reply, I made a mistake, the Ipod was actually a 3G, I checked with the model number you gave to me. I used the link you sent to me to fix my error 3194, so now it's working and I did a full restore under IOS 5.1.1 with iTunes. But, the iPod still won't boot and it's stuck on the spinner loading screen. I tried it on a different computer, still not working. I can see the iPod in iTunes but I'm unable to put anything in it and the screen keeps alternating between the loading spinner and the white apple, the only thing I can do is a restore in DFU mode but it does nothing and the iPod still won't boot.
