Why is my iPad still restoring after a week?

Unfortunately, about your only options are to continue trying to restore the backup, try a different wifi network, troubleshoot a possible wifi connection and/or stop the restore process and try restoring the backup again.

If you want to stop the restore, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tap Stop Restoring at the bottom. You can import any recovered photos to your computer (iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer), then try troubleshooting your wifi. Solutions to that include power-cycling your wireless router (unplugging it for 15 seconds, then plugging it back in), resetting network settings on your phone (in Settings>General>Reset), updating the firmware on your router, and changing the router's DNS settings to use Google's public DNS (see https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using).

Check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup at the bottom to see if it says Stop Restoring... If it does, it still isn't done restoring. If it doesn't, give it some time. The "restore is in progress" message should time out and clear up on its own but may take 3-5 days to do so.

It may still be downloading photos and videos in your camera roll, or downloading apps and other purchased media. This happens in the background while you can still use your iPad so you may not be aware of it. You might open your camera roll and see if you see any evidence that it is downloading anything.

If you think you have everything, tap Stop Restoring iPad to stop the process. Then you may want to delete the existing backup and create a new one in case there is something corrupt in it that caused this.

I Am having this same issue. Going from iPad 2 to iPad Air, restoring from iCloud backup. It has been at least a week. I can see that not all my photos have been restored, 3 apps are missing, and songs are missing as well. I keep checking the progress and in the last 48 hours only 12 photos have been restored. That is very slow progress. Is there any way to speed up this process? I have searched for solutions and tried resetting my cable modem and wifi router and restarting the iPad Air as one person suggested. Doesn't seem to have made any difference. This is a frustratingly slow process. I need to wipe the old iPad to pass on to someone else, but don't dare until this process is complete. How long did your restore end up t taking? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Make sure it is connected to wifi and your charger before you lock the screen, otherwise wifi will be turned off to conserve battery power and the restore process will stop until the screen is unlocked again.

THanks. That's important to know. I wish they would include it in the instructions for this process. Most people likely have their iPad closed and locked before they plug it in. I know I do. I'll try it the other way.

It might turn wifi back on when you plug it in after it's locked but I since have no way to test that so I make sure it's connected to external power before locking it. I know if it remains on just battery power, wifi will stay off.

Well, it made a little progress last night, about 25 additional photos restored, but there are still 800+ photos to go. It has been plugged in all day today, sitting right next to the wifi router, and nothing at all seems to have happened. There has to be a better way. At this rate, it will take a month to complete this restore process.
