If you go to an apple store it'll be an out of warranty replacement - you'll swap your whole device for a replacement (might be new, might be refurbished). If you have apple care plus thenyou can cash in one of your two accidental damage replacements and the fee is $49 - $79. If you don't have apple are plus then the fee starts at $299 and goes up depending on the model.

You can go to an unauthorized place but using them will void any remainder of your factory warranty. You can DIY it, but that too will void your warranty.

Or you can just live with the dent. However you may also want to bear in mind that the dent could be the reason to consider your warranty null and void if you ever have any issues with your iPad. Usually, any time there's visible damage to a device,t hat damage is blamed for any malfunction, even if, let's say you dent it in January and it messes up in december, that visible damage will most likely be deemed the cause.

Hi. Just want to share my story. My Ipad Air (WI-FI, 32GB, SILVER) had a problem of booting up. I tried to charge it overnight but nothing happened. It was totally unresposive. I got scared and immediately sent it to the nearest authorized service provider at Festival Mall, Alabang (Philippines) with my boyfriend who purchased the ipad air . We are aware that the ipad is still under it's warranty period. I'm only using it for 6 months. They checked my ipad and found out that it has some scratches and dent on the left lower corner which I'm not aware of. The guy who assists us said that the dent can cause my warranty to be void. They have to consult someone in Singapore to check if it still subject for replacement since they don't repair ipads. After 5 days of waiting, my boyfriend received a txt from Power Mac Center that my ipad air is for replacement. According to the service report they gave us, my previous ipad had a hardware failure. Maybe the dent doesn't cause the hardware to fail that is why they replaced my ipad. I'm so happy and relieved. I hope that my new ipad will last long. I will also buy a smart case! haha Thanks apple! 🙂
