i plugged in my iPod to my macbook air, and then a box popped up saying iTunes could not connect...

The box isnt going away. Ive tried to click the 'ok' button and i tried to quit itunes but it wont go away. What should i do?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
