XP in Parallels--cannot actve F8 key to agree licence

I'm installing Parallels Desktop on a MacBook Pro and have hit a wall with the Windows XP Licence Agreement. It requires I press the F8 key. I've clicked in the Parallels window to capture keyboard and mouse input but the Mac F8 key doesn't work. I cannot be sure the keyboard and mouse are active in the Parallels window (although the bottom message says "Press Ctrl-Alt to release keyboard and mouse", so it appears to be ok. Anyone got a solution?

Hi Michael!

I'll agree that this should be noted for folks using laptops, but the fn key is a standard with portables and they probably expect folks to understand this.

FYI, if you go to Apple menu --> System Preferences... --> Keyboard & Mouse you can change the default behavior of your laptop to use the F-keys as function keys without having to use the fn key.

Hope this helps! bill
