How many Mpbs do I need to effectively stream video from AppleTV

I am currently running 50mbps on my internet, and the cable company says actually I am running 61. Is that necessary for streaming video from Apple TV. Would it be just as effective if I were running 25mbps. Would I see that much of a difference?

Think of it as sort of like having a V8 engine in your car. You might not need it all the time but when needed, it can be great.

Also, downloaded videos and audios are buffered, that is why they sometimes delay a few seconds before downloading. The entire movie does not download all at once, your player or AppleTV just stays a few seconds behind the download as it's buffering. If it catches up to the buffering it will stall, skip or jump so having extra bandwidth is a good thing and can avoid that from happening.

Cheers.....
