Q: -600 The application xxx can't be opened.

I keep randomly getting these error dialogs. It can be any application (even the calculator). The horrible thing is I can't focus the dialogs to click "Ok" to close them. Can't command-tab to them or anything. However they sit on top of everything.

It's the most annoying error I think I've ever seen. If the error dialog would at least allow other windows to be overtop it, then I'd deal with it. Annoying...But at least I'd be able to manage.

I didn't do a fresh install of Mavericks, I upgraded. I use this computer for work so often that it's hard to take the time to do a install from scratch...an upgrade really should have worked too.

Anyone else get this error?

The only thing I can do is restart my computer each time. Fortunately I can save my work...but it's a very big distraction and I see the error almost once a day.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

same problem here, usually after a week running Mavericks 10.9.5 13F1066 on iMac 20 inch mid 2007.  And the application is usually Grab.app;  as above,

the dialog box is stuck in the middle of the screen, but other applications can be accessed, documents saved, etc.  Only a reboot clears that dialog

box from the screen.  #@!$$#   Thinking about trying Yosemite, but it seems to give DNS problems... initially at least.. hmm.

First of all, this is like juror selection: You ask too many questions to be a real Apple User™.  I kid, of course, bc one thing I love about Apple/Mac is the stability of hardware and OS we usually enjoy!

But to the question: One idea is that while the 600 dialog is open, pop open Activity Monitor, or Terminal and run "top", sort by CPU, and then do something with that dialog.  I think the offending app might pop up in processes.. maybe..
