Apple TV is asking to be plugged into itunes, but itunes (or any computer) is not recognising it....? Just a blinking light.....

Have you followed the insructions exactly? Unplug all cables, then connect to iTunes via micro usb and run itunes. If using a 3rd gen connect power.

Make sure to connect directly to computer and not a keyboard port or USB hub. Try a different cable.
