however, I've heard that crumpler bags are more stronger and sturdy....

yellowman-

i have the STM small alley bag (olive) for the macbook and i am very pleased with my purchase. i have looked at the crumpler bags and you mentioned that it is stronger and more sturdy, but how strong and sturdy does it need to get?

personally, i cannot say much about the crumpler bags since i do not own it (but it looks a bit too big and loosy for the macbook?). but in regards to the small alley bag, you will not be dissapointed. and what other "computer bags" would you prefer? targus? psh, if you have a boring office job.

STM for the macbook is very stylish and small, yet offers PLENTY of pockets (velcro, zipper) front, back, and inside. and if you ask me, it looks pretty darn strong and sturdy. plus, for $40, you simply cannot beat it.

good luck!

p.s. i think STMs are much more appealing than crumpler bags. they look like baby tote bags. and what's up with the name?!? cumpler?

I have had both these brands pass through my hands and I would say the build quality of both is pretty much the same.

Of the two I think Crumpler built their reputation that they were made specifically for Macs. That is not to say STM arent, I guess Crumpler had some clever marketing to get the message across.

How about the Tucano range, they have some nice options too.

that is a good question. i, too have noticed the tone difference and wondered why that was the case. i ordered mine from http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4072439 (when it was not available through the STM site because it was all sold out). this site gives off a bit of khaki color but the color is actually more military greenish. the picture on the site you provided on your first post portrays an accurate color that i have (but mine is slightly darker since the light background setting on those pictures make the bag look a bit lighter): http://forums.macnn.com/66/ibook-and-macbook/295885/macbook-13-bags/7/

the color choice is completely up to you. the only reason i chose olive is because i find it slightly more casual than the carbon (i am a college student and i commute) and it looked really good on that bag post.
