Q: mac will start up logo shows up with the loading circles then turns off for no reason it seems. or it freezes there

title of the discussion is my problem

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), iOS 7.1.1

    Start the unit holding down the V key.  This is verbose boot.  What is the last line before the system halts?

     

    Next, try entering Single User Mode (Command - S keys) and running an fsck (fsck -fy).  While is Single User Mode, read the /var/log/system.log to see what is causing the shutdown.
