My sons iPod touch 4th gen has been stolen.

My sons iPod was stolen less than a week after he got it for his birthday. It is still showing up on my devices list on the find my phone app. It can't locate it as it isn't connected to the Internet but we have it set to lock if it connects to the Internet. My question is, if it still shows up in my devices list does that mean that the person who took it hasn't reset it?

No.

lost/stolen

No app on the iPod is required.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or will continue to say off-line.

- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police

- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

- Apple will do nothing without a court order

Thank you for your response :) we have reported it to the police but they have basically said that there are so many lost and stolen phones, iPods etc that we are not likely to see it again. We have set up through the find my phone app for the iPod to lock if it is connected to the Internet and for a message to appear on the screen asking them to hand it in to the police. I had the restrictions set to suit my 5 year old son - so safari was turned off and age limit for apps set to 9+. Can the iPod be reset to factory settings with the restrictions in place?

Thanks again for your response
