I tried to update my ipod touch to ios7 and it forced my ipod into recovery mode. i have tried to restore the ipod as well as turn the recovery off as well as use tinyumbrella and nothing worked. How can I get my $300 ipod touch to work?

Without knowing what happened when you tryed to restore:

    Try:

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

    - Try another cable

    - Try on another computer

    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Thanks, it is a new cable.  I have tried three computers. This has helped me make a decision on whether I was going to get an iphone fo rmy next phone. Or any other apple product.  I had a samsung and all I had to do was press a button and it would reset. I did not need to be connected to itunes which for some reason I have read deletes previous firmwares so that you cannot restore.  So if I take it to a apple store which is an hour plus away from me, how much are they going to charge?  That is just so stupid.  Customer Service would be so nice, but they make it hard to get any answers.

    I will drain the battery

I have tried to put it in the DFU mode but I dont think it has gone into the mode.

I will try again. I am also going to try to delete itunes and reinstall itunes.

I have tried the tiny umbrella site but that will not work.

    Thanks.

I figured it out from another blog. I went into control panel, internet connections, lab settings and clicked automatically configure connections.

This is the link.  For me it kept saying the internet connection would not work.  I tried all the other tips before doing the restore. I could not get tiny umbrella or rec boot to work for me.       http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1814
