There is a red dot next to where my front camera is located. What is it

No, it's a good thing. It means that when you hold the phone to your ear to talk the screen will turn off so your face doesn't press any buttons.

The "dot" is the proximity sensor. It lets the phone know if your head is close to it.

Haha It's actually a good thing! If it wasn't there your phone would be spastic while you're making calls. I had the same question too. I thought it meant my camera was on and the NSA was spying on me! Glad I learned that wasn't the case.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "front" camera. Is it the one that you use for selfies, or the one that you take pictures of other stuff with?

If it's the one on the back of the camera (the side that doesn't have the screen) that's the rangefinder.

I know its a good thing by now, i never knew it was there until just now, it kinda freaked me out cause i thought someone hacked my phone, cause ive never noticed it till just now so i had to see what it meant

I just noticed that one evening and i was like "Do i have kind of virus that people watch me with front camera" It keep that red light on and on so i was worried about virus... But thanks for the information!
