Q: I am wondering how I can attach a scanned PDF or JPEG to a email so anyone can open and read it. Right now when I attach the files it places the whole document on the email instead of a icon for some to open and read.

I am wondering how I can attach a scanned PDF or JPEG to a email so any one can read it. Right now when I attach my document is shows up on the email as the complete image not as I icon showing a attached document.

What OS are you using? This is the Snow Leopard community and your profile indicates 10.7.5.

    This Terminal command might work.

It only appears that way to you, but the recipient will get the attachment.

As a test, send it to yourself, and you will see that you will be able to download the attachment.

When the recipient opens your email they will see either the complete image or an attachment icon, depending on how their email program is set up: there is nothing you can do to influence this. Either way it comes to the same thing, they can still save the image out to the desktop if it's showing.
