This Terminal command might work.
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool YES

It only appears that way to you, but the recipient will get the attachment.
As a test, send it to yourself, and you will see that you will be able to download the attachment.

May 5, 2014 12:15 AM in response to shelly747by Roger Wilmut1,When the recipient opens your email they will see either the complete image or an attachment icon, depending on how their email program is set up: there is nothing you can do to influence this. Either way it comes to the same thing, they can still save the image out to the desktop if it's showing.
