Was getting the sleep button fixed. They gave me a loaner and the contract said that if I don't return the loaner, my phone becomes there's and I keep the loaner. So can I just keep the loaner phone?

Who gave you the loaner? if it was Apple and you don't return it they will charge the full price of it to your credit card.
Yes. You can keep the loaner and sacrifice your original phone. I double checked this with the store. Obviously the loaner may be lower capacity (16GB) than your original and is typically refurbished/reconditioned in some way but you are basically performing a swap if you keep it.

Yes, Lawrence is incorrect. If you read the contract, if you just don't pick up your phone, it will be considered abandoned and so the ownership of the device would transfer over to apple and the ownership of the loaner would be transferred to you.
