Possibly it will be different, but unlikely. There can be some audio problems, so you might want to try some different approaches. First try setting up a playlist in iTunes and put enough music in there to last for all the slides (don't use music from the iTunes music store for now - that can cause problems). Then you can link the playlist to your iPhoto slideshow (in iPhoto), and Share/Export from iPhoto.

When you created your iPhoto slideshow, did you change the preferences to repeat slideshow, or fit slideshow to audio or any of those sort of things? The default slideshow music in iPhoto only goes for a very short period of time. I think you'd be better selecting your own music and making the slideshow fit to it.
