Buffering from streaming is usually a bandwith issue. Make sure that you:

1) Have sufficient bandwith through your ISP to support streaming. If you're using dial-up/satellite, probably not.

2) Aren't downloading/hogging bandwith elsewhere. If you're trying to stream Netflix on your TV, watch YouTube on your computer, all while downloading some updates, odds are, your bandwith is stretched.

3) If you're on a wireless connection, make sure you have a stable connection. Packet loss can kill streaming!

Adding on:

If you do have a connection fast enough to support streaming, aren't hogging bandwith, and are hardwired in, you may want to open your router's config page. Most of them will show what devices are connected. My bet is one of them is hogging bandwith. Maybe as a background task. What usually gets me is when my phone starts to download app updates. It could also be something "stuck" in the MB. Try a simple restart, but when you do, make sure when the dialogue box pops up before the restart that you uncheck the "reopen windows when logging back in" box.
