A document I updated to the new form of pages won't open up

At first, it is difficult to tell which version of Pages you are using. Pay close attention to the icon on the Dock. The icons for the two versions are different and you will learn to differentiate them.

Make sure you are using the new version for editing any document either created with the new version or edited by the new version.

The documents will all have the new icon no matter which version they were created in, is my experience.

I meant to say that the App icon in the Dock would look like my graphics, not the docment icons. I've never paid any attention to what the document icons look like, I just keep track of what version they should be.

And some of the frustrating confusing is that the documents all looks like the newer Pages.

OK Frudulda, you made me look ;-).

The document icons do look different. The top one is '13 and the bottom one is '09.

Well, that doesn't happen on my machine. They both have the new icon and I don't know how to change it except manually for each document in the Get info window

My Desktop icons for files saved there only show the first page of the document, no indication of the version at all.

My Dock icons are as I described above.

And if you don't have the preview icon showing do the documents still show which version they were created in?
