you can use android file transfer application from the below link

http://www.android.com/filetransfer/

then follow the comments

Download and Install

  • Step 1: Click Download Now above.
  • Step 2: When the download completes, double-click androidfiletransfer.dmg.
  • Step 3: In the Installer window, drag Android File Transfer to Applications.

Use Android File Transfer

  • Use the USB cable that came with your Android device to connect it to your Mac.
  • Double-click Android File Transfer to open it the first time (subsequently, it opens automatically).
  • Browse the files and folders on your Android device, add folders, copy files up to 4GB to or from your Mac, delete files, and more.
  • Choose Help > Android File Transfer Help to learn more.

also you can use Samsung KIES for mac from this link : http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/ 😉

yep in that case you can use Android file transfer .. this will allow you to connect through USB and you can easily exchange files b/w your S4 to mac..

Also try to download Droid NAS from App store link is : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codesector.droidnas and you can use that without USB but for that you need to connect your phone and mac into same wifi n/w..

The procedure for using Droid NAS for mac follows

OS X Mavericks workaround:

Press Cmd+K in Finder and enter IP address AND share:

smb://IP_ADDRESS:Port/Share

for example:

smb://192.168.1.2:7777/SD Card

Cheers !!!

I am not using anything other than iPhones and iPads and Macs and PC's.

My remark was just a cautionary statement.

As far as I remember from some threads, some file-explorers read the android phones (connected with USB) just as a disk (maybe even Finder does that?), so that you do not need any special app to connect that Samsung phone.

Have fun,

Lex
