When I try to order a printed book, I can not get any further than to "check out". Then I get "oops the store is temporarily unavailable". It has been like this for the past two days.
Everything else works on the Macbook Air. Mail, iTunes, surfing etc
What is your iPhoto version? You need iPhoto '09 or iPhoto '11 to be able to order a book. For earlier iPhoto versions printing books has been discontinued.
Check, if there is any problem with your book by making a pdf preview, see: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
Look for any missing photos, that might indicate that one of your photos cannot be processed.
If you have iPhoto '09 or iPhoto '11 try to order your book after booting into Safe mode:
Also what print product store are you trying to order from? Give this fix posted by another user a try:
- Quit iPhoto.
- From the Finder menu bar, choose Go > Utilities to access your Utilities folder (or press Shift-Command-U).
- In your Utilities folder, open Keychain Access.
- Find the "NetServices" entry in your Keychain Access window.
- Select the "NetServices" entry and press the delete key.
- Reopen iPhoto and attempt to place your order again.
- You should be prompted to enter your account information if you deleted the Keychain entry successfully.
- After entering your account information, you should be able to complete your order.

Thanks Leonie - tried it and still the same, even the PDF looks fine and after starting in safe mode.

What country are you in? Is the print products country in the iPHoto advanced preferences set correctly?

Also checked the country settings and there it also states Denmark, which is correct... and still the same.
Kind of puzzled as everything else works well and I even consider myself af mac-superuser. But apparently not super enough 🙂
Another user reported that Apple support in Denmark contacted him and confirmed that the Denmark print products store has been having problems these last few days. So it's nothing assoicated with your end of the process. You'll just have to wait until they get it fixed.
