how do i get aol instant messenger on my mac book..

I'd disagree that Adium is the best. It has odd compatibility errors and there is no audio or video chatting. These things are almost essential with me using IM. Especially since the MacBook has both a mic and iSight built-in.

I prefer iChat most of the time, as well. All it needs now is to let me use more than one account at the same time.

AdiumX http://www.adiumx.com is by far the best chat
client for Mac, and it fully supports AIM.

I agree. I only do chats so this works the best for me. If I cared about video and audio chats I would stick with iChat.

You need to download and install StuffIt Expander to open the file you downloaded as well as other items with the .sit, .bin, .hqx, and .sitx extensions.

I agree with everyone for ichat, its the only instant messenger app i use, its simple and has the best layout of any other IM application ive seen. i tried AIM for mac just to see how it looked, its actually a big mess compared to the simple ichat.

if you cant open certain downloaded apps go to stuffit.com it is an uncompresser and i think aim is a compressed file
