Buying Logic Pro 7.2 dirt cheap off ebay : To good to be true?

As the thread title suggests I'm thinking of replacing my copy of Logic Express 7 with Logic Pro bought cheap off ebay. I can find unopened logic 7 boxes selling for as little as £126. Is something fishy going on? Is this to good to be true? I mean I dont want to spend £128 on a banned/stolen/virused up copy or something awful.

Additionaly does Logic 7.2 require upgrading to Mac OS 10.4 ?

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.3.9)

a) post the URL of the ebay item so we can give you an opinion as to whether or not it fits into the category of...

b) in NYC there was a popular scam a while back where guys on the street were selling video cameras in apparently sealed, shrink-wrapped boxes. They all had a good heft to them and seemed legit. In all cases, when the box was eventually opened, it was found to contain a brick.

well, you're asking for advice on something none of us can guarantee!!!

is it stolen, pirated, etc.??? we can't know for sure. maybe his girlfriend
paid for it, and he doesn't care how much he gets for it!!!

assuming you actually receive this item from the seller, one thing
we can all know for sure is that the manufacturer, Apple, didn't let
it go for this price!!!

but if he wanted full price for it, you'd say "well, if i'm paying full
price, i'll just order it from apple to be safe."

so who knows?

AND HERE'S A CONCRETE ANSWER FOR ONE OF YOUR QUESTIONS:

the systems requirements for 7.2 are shown as:
Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later

G4 TiBook 800 512MB RAM, G5 iMac 2.1GHz 20" 1.5GB RAM Mac OS X (10.2.x)

But the possibility that it may be really true makes
my pulse quicken.

That's what auctions do! I'm a live auction veteran, and still, when a lot comes up that I really really really want, I get the same reaction. It's normal. It's the thrill of the hunt as well as the chase when it comes to auctions. As Melissa said, there's still plenty of time left on that auction so don't set your hopes too high.
