Literally EVERYTHING on my iMac has bogged down to intolerable levels of slowness since I updated to Mavericks. Please help! Tim, you should have started your own thread for this. Your problem is two fold. 1. You do not have enough ram. Mavericks alone uses 2gb.....there is no ram left to even perform the simplest of tasks. 2. Get rid of the Symantic product(s) you do not need them and they are not good for your Mac.
