Q: My iMac won't start up and shows a grey screen with light blue bars Online instructions have been followed bur don't seem to work

Startup - Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
If you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment to have the computer tested. Supposedly there is no charge for testing.

After speaking to Apple on the phone they came to the conclusion that a repair was required and they provided information about nearby agents
They have also told me that Apple are obliged to replace faulty components under UK law so it looks like it wont cost too much if anything!
