AirPlay easier on graphics card

I'm getting ready to do some work using software that uses the graphics card pretty heavily. I have a MacBook Pro Retina with two cards, but I'm wondering, if I use AirPlay through my Apple TV, will that be less wear on my graphics card(s)? Not sure exactly how all that works.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

A graphics card isn't mechanical - the idea of more or less wear on a purely electronic device doesn't apply. The discrete videocard is probably going to result in higher temperatures but the fans will compensate. Use the computer and stop worrying about such things.
