Q: "iTunes was not properly installed"

Hi,

 

I have been using iTunes 9 for a long time and a few days ago I updated to iTunes 11 since the updater kept bugging me.

 

It seems like an ok version of iTunes but every time I load it up, I get the error:

"iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs, you need to reinstall iTunes."

 

I've checked online for help and the issue seems to be that iTunes doesn't recognise my CD drive (I found this in the diagnostics section of the program).

Apparently this page is meant to help, but none of the three solutions work. My CD drive drivers are up to date and have been reinstalled; I do not have either of the files in Solution 2; and I do not have GEAR driver software.

 

Any help?

Windows 7, Win7 64-bit.
