My iPhone 5 won't connect to home Wifi?

When I came back home from college, I found that my iPhone 5 wouldn't connect to my home WiFi anymore. My MacBook Pro connects fine, and so do the iPod touch devices my brothers have.

My iPhone connects only in the TV room, which is where the router is (Linksys E2000). Everywhere else, it says "Unable to connect." This did not happen prior to August 2013. My iPhone also says "Unable to connect" when trying to connect to the WiFi at my uncle's house and my friend's house. It connects fine at university, though, which uses WPA or WPA2 connections.

I tried forgetting the network on my iPhone, resetting the network settings, unplugging the router and plugging it back in, switching to Static on my iPhone Wifi... NOTHING WORKS. All of my data is being used up and I'm being charged an extra $20 or $40 a month because of this... I can't afford to continue this way.

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this, or what could potentially be a solution? Please help!

I spoke with someone from Apple, and they recommended a restore. I did, and it still isn't working. My friend has an iPhone 5 like me, and his WiFi works in my house.

Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that the hardware controlling Wifi connectivity in my iPhone is faulty. 😟 I just switched to AT&T's Mobile Share Value Plan, though. With 10 GB of data, I don't have to worry about running out of data anymore. Eventually, I will upgrade to a newer iPhone anyway.

I experienced the same inability to connect two new iPhone 5C's that I recently upgraded to through (Southern California) Verizon. My MacBook Pro has always been able to connect to wirelessly through my Cisco E2000 n-router and Android devices never have a problem connecting. While both phones could easily connect to my home Verzion-provided gateway-router (802.11 b/g), they were "unable to connect" to the Cisco n-router with the only option being to "dismiss" the request.

After completing a lengthy chat with Apple Support, checking all of the obvious including DHCP enabled, DDNS disabled, 2.4 GHz band, Mixed network mode, 20MHz only, Auto channel, and SSID Broadcase enabled, I switched the wireless security mode on the E2000 from "WPA / WPA2 Mixed Mode" to "WPA2 Personal" and both phones connected effortlessly.

Note that with this change to the router, the encrytion for any Windows wireless devices may have to be changed to AES.

This just happened to me. We switched ISPs and my wife's iPhone 5 wouldn't connect to the internet. Everyother device in the house would. After tons of research, and some trial and error, I discovered that when I changed the Airport Extreme setting from DHCP to DHCP and NAT it worked! The Airport Extreme doesn't like it all that much, but everything now works.
