I have a Creative Nomad Zen Xtra. I use a freeware program named XNJB to connect to my Mac. Works great, and even interfaces with iTunes (access to songs, but not playlists). According to their web site the Vision M has beta support only.

Not sure if you want to rely on beta freeware to support your $300 mp3 player. It may not work with all the bells and whistles of the Vision.

I don't believe any of the Creative players support AAC (iTunes Music Store) files so you won't be able to play those on it.

Nope, have to do a process of burning 4x with 15 songs to a cd-rw, click the cd in the Finder, then click on iTunes to see the cd, then import back into iTunes using 192kb MP3. Then Disk Utility erase the cd-rw and start over with another 15 songs.

If the cd is ejected or the power goes off, then all the cd track names disappear. So be sure only to burn 15 songs at a time as not to go over.

Once the songs are Mp3, then they can be transfered to any device that can be recognized using software and use Mp3.

I say just get a iPod and be done with it, much better looking and working anyway.

I would go for the ipod but I need a radio so that rules that out.

Thousands of third party "Made for iPod" devices covered, from car integration, to portable stereos, to iPod toilet paper dispensers. (no kidding). Charging devices for car, boat, iPod radios etc are available at nearly every electronic store, computer store and Kmart.

Third party iTunes enhancements like CoverFlow and Volume Logic.

Still want to fight trying to get stuff on a Zen? And lose out on the iPod ecosystem just to have the Creative exit the portable player market like Dell did?

Your choice, your future.

Hello again Dave,

DS Store makes a very compelling case for the iPod over the other thing ( See? I forgot the name already! )

As I stated earlier - Setting these things up can be a nightmare, it can also be fairly easy but with loss of 100% functionality.

I am not paid by Apple to state - " iPod all the way "

That IS the way I feel having set up dozens of these devices for customers and friends and family.

Regards to all here.

Ian
