Podcast Image is Not Updating for over Two Weeks

The iTunes Store caches the image, which is why it's possible for it still to be showing. When you change the image in the feed, as you have done, it can take some days before the Store recognizes the change and updates.When you change the image it's vital that you change the filename, otherwise the Store won't know it's changed - did you do that? If not you should do so.

However there is a further issue: the maximum accepted filesize is 500kB: yours is 836kB, and this may well be the reason for the failure to update.

You should produce a more compressed version of the image, and give it a different filename and amend the feed accordingly. Then it should update, but it will take some days.

I'm having the exact same problem as IkeDarnal. I talked to iTunes support today for an hour and they basically told me that there was nothing they could do. Very frustrating.

If you would like to post in the 'Producing Podcasts' forum and include the URL of your iTunes Store page I will have a look at it and see if there is any obvious reason for this.

When you have a question you are more likely to get attention if you start your own thread rather than tacking onto one which is weeks old, which can easily be missed.

I updated the image in the feed -- the new image shows up on my iPod when I listen to the show, but the iTunes store still has the old image. Here is the correct image:

Well, your image is correctly referenced, is marginally over the required size (which I wouldn't have thought would be a problem), is RGB and less than 500kB as required.

The Store caches the image, so when you change it the old image will continue to show, often for some days - though two weeks is a bit longer than usual. Your iPod is evidently reading the feed directly and so is not affected by this.

Probably it will update eventually - the Store does have these irritating sticky patches - provided that when you updated it you gave the image a new filename. If you didn't, the Store has no way of knowing that the image has changed, so it will never update: so if that is the case you will need to rename the image on the server and in the feed.
