Sharp PN-K321 with Displayport cable and Mac Pro

I purchased a Mac Pro with the Sharp PN-K321 display. The dispay is supposed to come with a mini displayport to displayport cable. It did not. It came with displlayport to displayport. Multiple calls to Apple claim is is not their problem becuase sharp send the wrong cable. But Sharp says its not their problem. Apple offered to send an HDMI cable. They claim they cannot send me the right cable because they do not sell it. But that port on the display will only operate at 30Hz. And you cannot use it with the three 4K displays that they claim. Because there is only one HDMI port on the Mac Pro. Has anyone else received their PN-K321 with a minidisplayport to displayport cable? How can you purchase a multi-K$ system and not get the right cable?

I have literally spent hours on the phone with apple. In fact I am on hold with them now. And the only thing they can do is supply an HDMI cable. That means that you cannot operate the displya above 30Hz in full resoltuion. It also means you cannot run multiple 4K displays (the mac pro is supposed to power up to 3) since there is only one HDMI port on the mac pro. I offered to buy the cable myself if they would pay for it, but they said that is not possible.

Hi friends!! commenting here is a new user of both a max-out mac pro ($8995) and the Sharp PN-K321 not purchase @ apple store. Unfortunately the manufacturer only includes a regular "displayport to displayport" cable. That means you need to purchase separetely a "mini displayport to displayport" cable or get an adapter for this conversion (what i did). Two comments:

1) Apple's website clearly states that this monitor comes with the right cable ("mini displayport to displayport") even thou the manufacturer does not includes the correct cable in the box. That means, legally, that Apple has to provide the cable there's no escape from that obligation.

2) Once you connect this monitor and the mac pro it seems that there some kind of delay, it does not look or fill fast. Im testing a new cable but Im not happy with this situation. Makes me wonder if I need a special mini displayport to displayport certified cable that does not exist. Or maybe the display and connection it is not that great.

Hi crj2111,

I have your same configuration and I'm testing several displayport to minidisplay port cables and my problem is that the monitor gets signal from Mac Pro 2013 only when the boot sequence is completed, I mean that I have no signal booting in Recovery, see the boot manager or the Apple logo during startup and the monitor turns on only when the OS has fully loaded.

The Sharp PN-K321 is the only monitor connected to Mac.

Are you experiencing this issue?

Thanks in advance
