Q: New Apple ID...what will happen to all my stuff

I'm currently using my boyfriends Apple ID on the iPad he gave me if I change it to my own will I lose all the apps I have or everything stay the same? All the other settings have been changed to me except that he gets an email every time I buy something or download an app. The credit card info is mine not his

iPad, iOS 7.1.1, iPad mini

    Everything will remain, however you will not be able to update anything as apps and music are permanently linked to the Apple ID used for their download.

     

    Go Settings > iTunes and App Stores > Apple ID > Sign Out

     

    backup and remove the Apple ID, insert your Apple ID and go forward and Sign In.
