I got charged for the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read Classroom Edition app. I'm a special education teacher and it shows on the app description that it is free to download today, May 6, 2014, for National Teacher Appreciation day. Why did I get charged $49.99 when it says it free today. How do I return the app if I did not want to buy it for $49.99?

You need to access iTunes support. One way to do that is at expresslane.apple.com
I am in the same EXACT situation!! Apple says they don't determine the prices and told me to contact Hooked on Phonics. Hooked on Phonics said it should have been free but only iTunes can remove the charge and iTunes is saying its nonrefundable!!
I don't know what to do!
Same for me. I emailed Apple about it, and I will let you know what they say back. This is totally frustrating, and I am surprised they didn't catch this themselves.
