Apple Pro Speakers and PowerMac G5

Can the Apple Pro speakers be used with a late 2004 Dual processor PowerMac G5?

If these are the speakers...

then they require power via the mini-jack - which the G5 audio-out does not provide - being stereo output suitable for separate powered speakers and other self-powered audio devices.

There is an adapter mentioned there but it's discontinued - maybe there's something else available, somewhere.

Thanks for the information. They look to be the same speakers, although mine have the inscription "Pro Speakers Model No. M6531" on the cable Y junction, and a very unusual Jack.

I had them working on my old "Table Lamp" iMacs. These have been replaced now with a G5 and an Intel iMac. I have very poor speakers on my office PowerMac G5 and had hoped to use these Pro Speakers.

Howeer it now sounds like they will not work with any of my machines.
