I can't find Siri on my iPad 7

I've tried everywhere to find Siri on my iPad 7 most of the advice I found on the Internet advises that I should go into settings>general>Siri - but Siri just isn't there. I've also tried the keyboard settings but I only have languages not the voice recognition facility. Apparently the microphone, to activate speech commands, should be to the left of the spacebar on my keyboard but it's just impossible to get this facility to be available.

I really do need this facility because I just cannot type I and if it was available it would be so much faster than my slow efforts at typing.

Can someone out there help me please.

Did you check the Restrictions in the General settings to see if Siri has been turned off there?

Note that Siri is only available on the 3rd-generation iPad and later models. If you have an iPad 1 or an iPad 2, Siri is not available to you. If not, you can look into the Dragon Dictation app which will work on all iPad models.

Regards.

My iPad is updated to the latest (7+) so it must be well within the range that can have Siri.

I tried your suggestion of looking in the restrictions part of general settings and I noticed that all of the restrictions are turned off, I turned them on to temporarily to look for Siri but it was not even shown under the list of apps on the iPad.

Sorry to have wasted your time, I thought that because I upgraded my iPad to the latest version, this would give me Siri, but when I went into my local Apple store they advised me that Siri is built into the iPad hardware (in the form of a chip) and any amount of upgrades will not install Safari into mine.

They also confirmed that mine is only an iPad 2, so I now understand that I cannot have Siri on it.

I know there are third-party speech recognition apps available for iPads, so if anyone can suggest the most recommended version I'd very be pleased for advice.

Thank you for your help.
