Email links direct me safari to the Top Sites page. Why???

If I click on any email link on a website, it directs safari to the "Top Sites" page. Same thing happens if I click on any of my save "Reading list", but it doesn't do it if I click on a bookmark link. I don't understand this. Why is this happening and how to I fix it. I have already updated to the latest version of safari and cleared my history. That didn't fix it. Please help.

MAC, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Do you see” Disable this custom Page” button?

Click it.

Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Turn off Extensions and try.
