Macbook Pro mid-2012 16gb upgrade kit not working

Hi,

Today I Bounght my Kinstone 8GB x2 Mac Memory modules to give my mid-2012 an upgrade. While replacing the RAM I noticed I had to use way more force than needed while placing or taking the original RAM that was installed (like the modules were a tiny bit to wide). After installing the modules my Macbook booted and under system info I saw it recognized the full 16gb of memory. After a few seconds I got a kernel panic. I tried to boot my Macbook over and over again but all I got were 3 beeps -> hardware failure.

I tried installing the seperate modules and my Macbook booted just fine. I have absolutly no idea what went wrong.

Could somebody help me?

Sounds like you may have a bad module. I would get them replaced.

Kingston has some good RAM - but their 'value' line stinks.

Can you post the exact url that you used to purchase the RAM? That would be most helpful in determining whether you just got some bad RAM, RAM that's not specified for your computer, etc.

Thanks all reply, But I test the Ram is no problem on other Mac book pro. Just wondering what is the problem.

Kingston Value Ram is poor, unreliable operation is common.

If you want Ram that is properly compatible buy it from Crucial or OWC

Your mac is quite positive that the RAM isn't usable by it.

Sometimes, just the way its seated can cause the issue. Try 1 RAM stick only in 1 SODIMM slot, if it fails, try it in the other SODIMM slot, if it still fails, swap RAM sticks and do the same test.

Actually I did a test put the ram in 2nd ram slot is fine. This Mac book pro is working. once I put in the ram in 1st ram slot are not working.

Do u know what is happening? and what can I do now?
