Is windows 8 compatible with bootcamp?

Is there a trick to format when installing it? It won't let me.
That... I wouldn't know. I don't use BootCamp because I can't stand having to shut down and restart to get to Windows.
It's why I use Parallels and run my Windows in a VM.
