Sustain Pedal not working on Garageband when played back.

I have a new Mac book pro, and I was trying to record a song on Garage Band. I hooked up my Yamaha P-105 keyboard to the program and it recorded just fine. Problem is when I play back the recording, the sustain pedal is gone. I tried everything, help plz?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Are you saying that after the recording you open the MIDI Region and there are only the note events but no Sustain data in the MIDI Draw Area? That would mean that GarageBand doesn't record the Sustain (which would be strange)

When you press the Sustain Pedal, does the little dot (MIDI Indicator) in the upper right corner of the Control Bar Display light up?

I already tried that, and the sustain wasn't even there. The funny thing is when I'm recording the piano part, while I hold the pedal down I hear the sustain. When I play the recording back, the sustain effect is gone. But if I play the recording back while I hold the sustain pedal, the sustain appears again, and if I lift my foot off the pedal when I hear the recording playing back it stops.

I tried doing it manually too and it doesn't work either.

When you say it is gone, do mean it was there before, recorded on your Region?

After you record your Track, when you open the recorded MIDI Region, does the Sustain data show up in the MIDI Draw Area when you select "Sustain Pedal" from the Controller popup menu?

If it is displayed in the MIDI Draw Area of the Piano Roll Edito, then it was recorded.

Hope that helps

Yep! I see the notes, but suspension is not being recorded. I do get that little light above the meter though, when I play, so that means its picking up my piano, but I guess not recording the "expressions" I use.

Im going to try again to set up a new project and delete the old one, to see if it works. But yeah, its not recording the sustain effect when I use my pedal, nor when I try to add it.
