air play with iPad version 1
How do I do Air Play with a version 1 iPad? I can't swipe up to get the air play option.

You can't swipe up because Control Center is an iOS 7 feature and does not exist in iOS 5.1.1.
To enable AirPlay, you first must select the media you wish to play back, and start it playing. Then tap on the AirPlay icon and select an AirPlay-compatible device.
