Q: How do I change the apple id on my mac mini computer?

When I first got my computer, my son entered his apple id instead of mine.  Now whenever there is an update, I can't input my id.  This is not a problem with iTunes just the computer.  How do I change the apple id on the computer?

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

    - Mac App Store>Sign out and sign back in. However, purchases are locked to the account that purchased them. To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased them.

    - The Apple ID is also listed in Sysyerm Preferences>Users and Groups for each user

My apple id is listed as the owner.  I signed out and when I signed back in, same thing here.  This only happens when I try to update, not when I try to purchase anyhting form the store.  Right now it is iPhoto.  Doesn't that come with the computer and not have to be purchased seperately?

I am signed in.  It was purchased 12/12.  I'm signed into the app store.

Listed purchases are imovie which came with the computer, but upupdated yesterday and Duplicate Detective which I bought yesterday. And an OS X update.

Since iPhoto is not listed under Purchases with you signed into the account/Mac App Store that means you did not purchase it under your account.

It sounds like your son was the first one to sing into the new coputer and thus iPhot and maybe other things are associated with his account.

You can log into his account in the Mac App Store and see what is listed unter Purchased. However, that may affect the ability to redownload items that you purchased. See:
