No Themes in iDVD

I have bought a new iMac (OS Mavericks 10.9.2) one month ago, and I'm new Mac user. As iDVD is not installed anymore, I've had a look to all suggestions in many ASC discussions. Finally, now I have installed iDVD 7.1.2 with Themes 6 & 7. I have a copy of old themes 1 to 5. Following the suggestions , I have copied this folder in HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Themes.

The problem is when I launch iDVD the contents of each Theme 1 to 7 disappear.

I go to Advanced preference pane and point iDVD to the Themes folder that is inside iDVD folder, but the problem it's not solved , and happens the same every time I launch iDVD.... iDVD works but without any Theme...

Thanks in advance for your help,

iDVD '08, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Repair permissions disk done.

Home/Library/Application Support/iDVD6 & 7

then, copy from a USB stick ,Themes/iDVD1 to iDVD5.

Checked that the folder and files are correctly installed.

Home/Library/Application Support/iDVD1 to 7. right installed.

Launch iDVD, appears No Themes installed , go to look for themes , Home/Library/Application Support/iDVD1 to 7 , and the folders are there but iDVD1 to iDVD5 are empty.

What is wrong?

folders iDVD6 & 7 still with their theme files, but the folders iDVD1 to 5 miss the theme files and these folders are empties.

By empty do you mean in iDVD or that the actual folders are empty? If you're referring to being empty in iPhoto try the following:

1 - run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions

2 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your

User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.

3 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

User uploaded file

4 - launch IDVD, go to the Advanced preference pain, relink to the Themes folder and try again.

NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

If you're running Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

User uploaded file

The files disappear from the folder when viewed in iDVD or the Finder? I'm guessing you mean from within iDVD.

You can try putting a copy of the iDVD folder in the HD/Library/Applications Support folder and pointing iDVD to the Themes folder in that location. Also repair disk permissions after adding the folder to that location.

And try what I suggested in my last post.

Yes disappear from the folder after launch iDVD, the program ask for "Look for themes", and when I'm going to point to HD/Library/Applications Support / iDVD/ Themes the iDVD, themes folders still there but without the files.

I already have done

1 - run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions

2 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your

User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.

3 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

and the problem still there
