Q: iPod Shuffle Bad quality music

If you're using the new apple earphones with the remote/mic, the extra part on the end of the audio jack that carries those remote signals interferes with the older tech. However this can be fixed by pulling the headphones out of the socket ~1mm,the audio interference goes away.

Yes, when using my 1st gen shuffle, even with some regular headphones, I notice that I need to insert the plug completely, then back it out just a little.
