Logic Pro X Producer Drumkits - where is the reverb? Is it using space designer?
Calling all drummers.....
I'm really impressed by these Producer Kits, and I've wanted something like this in Logic for a long time! I use a Roland pad kit to record drums, and being able to balance the kit up and eq separate channels is a dream. Cymbals need to be real though IMHO, and so I've had some success in logic 9 playing a pad kit triggering exs24, with real cymbals miced up and then sending everything to the same overhead reverb setting with eq filter and so on therefore creating a reasonable realistic 'glued together' drumkit.
However, I'm confused at the way the sample are routed in Producer kits - either that or LPX is hiding channel effects.
Drum samples are directed to a room aux, but I can't see how, and surely the aux is using space designer....but I can't see it in the mixer view. Similarly there is an overhead aux where the cymbals default to and a certain amount of each drum ( specified in drum editor ) , but I can't see how that is sounding like a room either. The channel strips show no effect plug ins....or is it all going on invisibly inside the instrument?
Again the reason I ask is because to make this set up perfect, I want to record my drum kit with the pads, and real cymbals with oh mics ( with baffles to cut down room sound ) and then send them to the overhead reverb / room setting used in the kit. But I can't see the reverb for the kit...!!
