How do I unmark a question "Solved?"
I inadvertently marked my question "Solved," choosing my own follow up post. Can this be reversed? This question has NOT been solved.

Well, anyone can mark their posts as helpful or solved, but...... and it is a big "but": You do NOT get points for that and therefore no perks, awards, or whatever.
If someone does solve their own problem, it is actually helpful for them to mark it as solved because others with the same question will see this and then be able to see whatever solution the person found.
No.

Nope.
If you like... Start a New Thread with a link to your Original Unsolved thread.
Can't an admin reverse it? They just moved it from one forum to another...
Can you contact a host and see if they can reverse it? They just moved it from one forum to another... Or just go ahead and delete it and I'll repost. No point cluttering the community with repeat posts.
They will move a post if it makes sense (and is requested); but they will not reverse points awarded and they will not delete a post unless it violates the ToU here. So, don't worry about it - it'll fade into oblivion.
Weird because I marked that my user name had solved the issue. But no points... Probably to prevent users from generating their own points. Oh well.
Thanks for helping me with the original posts babowa. Frustrating to get it fixed only to screw it up again. What happened was I was looking at your post, I clicked on the link to check and see that my original post had indeed been relocated, and then I was distracted by something. When I got back to what I was doing, I wanted give you the solve credit, but didn't bother to look closely at which post was displaying. Since they had a similar structure, I didn't notice I wasn't looking at our thread... Oh well. Crapzilla.

Correct.

You guessed that correctly..... it is helpful though if someone solves their own question and marks it as such if other users are looking for an answer to the same type of problem - they can see it marked as solved and check for the solution.

You might consider going back to the thread, and explaining your error, and ask for more help. Unfortunately, most of us who volunteer to help here rarely look into solved threads. If that doesn't work, then I too, would recommand starting a new one.
ugh so frustrating. I did the same thing on another post and I don't want them to think my problem's solved because IT'S NOT ! :-(
Well, if you're read through the posts/suggestions, you know what to do. It's not a big deal - things like that happen accidentally quite often.
It would be too easy, otherwise everybody would create posts and then solve their own post and accumulate unfairly points, levels, perks and awards 😉
