Q: can i transfer my text conversations to a new phone?

my iphone 5s got some water damage, so i got a newone and i want to tranfer all the data to this one... will i be able to transfer all my text chats?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.1

SMS and iMessages are part of the iPhone backup. If you have made a backup of the iPhone, then once you restore the new phone to the backup of the old phone, it will restore the messages to the new phone. Just remember as you restore the phone to that backup, it will make the iPhone the same as the old phone on that date and time. Anything that you have on the new phone will be lost.
