I put my iPod through the washing machine on accident. It turns on, but it just goes to the apple.com/support/ipod screen. I kept it in a bag of rice for over a week

It may help to force your iPod into disk mode, then restore the device.
Restore iPod from Disk Mode
- Disconnect iPod from your computer.
- Manually put iPod into Disk Mode.
- Open the latest version of iTunes and connect iPod.
- Restore iPod.
Setup Service for iPod
