Hi, does anyone know whether iPad 4th gen model supports WiFi AC mode ? Any idea how to check which Wifi mode is selected by iPad i.e. A or N or AC

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (MM), iOS 7.1.1

The iPad 4 (and iPad Air) only supports 802.11n.


As stated from its technical specifications:

Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n); dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and MIMO

The iPad will connect at the highest WiFi speed supported by the router configuration.

Like all wireless devices, the iPad will go to the highest protocol that is available and stable...if the router has a solid n signal, it will use it. If something on the network is pulling it down to g, then that is what will be used. You cannot see what protocol it is actually using unless you are able to monitor the router itself and see what it is currently supporting.
